Lariats

Lariats are an versatile piece of jewellery. I usually make them approximately 150cm in length. I use a mixture of vintage and new beads. Usually I create a colour way and use either gold or silver coloured beads and wire as an accent.

Wearing a lariat
There are 4 main ways of wearing your lariat. I suggest you tie long hair up to start, as the take a little practice to get the hang of.
option 1. Tie the lariat around your neck and using a simple knot. This option works well if you are wearing a long jacket or cardigan.
option 2. Wrap the lariat around your neck (not too tight) and then tie in a simple knot.
option 3. Wrap the lariat twice around your neck (not too tight) and then tie a simple knot. This effect is great with a higher neck line, when you want a fuller piece of jewellery.
option 4. fold the lariat in half, then tie it around your neck in a simple knot...simple!
option 2 and 3 tip... when you have your lariat in position twist the beads together near your neck. this will hold it place and stop the lariat sliding towards your neck and feeling tight.
